Scuba Diving Cayman Islands
Diving Grand Cayman with Don FostersThe Cayman Islands are an overseas territory of the United Kingdom in the calm, turquoise waters of the western Caribbean Sea. Located only 480 miles south of Miami, there are three islands Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. Healthy coral reefs surround all three islands, creating ideal conditions for diving and other water activities. Between the Cayman Islands and Jamaica lies the deepest part of the Caribbean, the Cayman Trough, which is over four miles deep. South of Cayman is the Bartlett Deep where depths of over 18,000 ft. have been recorded. With only two seasons summer and winter temperatures are mild year round, in the mid 70Fs in the winter (November-April) and mid to high 80Fs in summer (May-October).
