 The
peninsula of Baja California is 781 miles long and the average
width is 56 miles, which makes it one of largest peninsulas
in the world. Along the west coast is the Pacific Ocean and
on the east is the Sea of Cortez. The water is not as clear
or as warm as in the Caribbean, but the big attraction for
divers is the large marine life such as whale sharks, manta
rays, sea lions, hammerhead sharks, gray whales and more.
The main diving locations are are found in Mulege, Loreto,
La Paz, Cabo Pulmo and Los Cabos. The summer months offer
the best visibility (70-90ft / 21-27m) and the water temperatures
are around 85 Fahrenheit / 29 Celsius.

wahoo, turtles, whales, schools of yellow fin tuna, many
varieties of sharks, along with a myriad of other species

to dive the Socorro and San Benedicto Islands.
The Sea of Cortez is not only home to some amazing

giant manta rays, gray & blue whales) but there
are several great wreck dives to be found here too.
